A Senior Vice-President to develop carpooling, buses and soon trains in Europe
As Senior Vice-President Western Europe, Dâu-Khôi Nguyen will oversee all of BlaBlaCar’s operations in the 8 key countries connected by the platform in this region. His role will be to drive profitable growth of BlaBlaCar’s multimodal strategy, which combines long-distance carpooling, commuter carpooling and buses to make travel more sustainable and accessible. Dâu-Khôi will accelerate BlaBlaCar’s plans to start distributing train tickets, which could be tested as early as 2024. His significant general management experience will also be valuable in future M&As which will continue to be part of the company’s growth strategy.
An international career focused on digital transformation and mobility
Dâu-Khôi Nguyen brings more than 25 years of experience in digital transformation at international scale in the technology and mobility industries. Since 2018, he has been president and CEO of Rail Europe, one of the largest train booking companies in the world, where he led the turnaround of this former SNCF Connect & Tech subsidiary. Prior to that, he helped digitize consumer electronics products at Philips, scale-up B2C retail e-commerce at Amazon and create omnichannel B2B distribution solutions at Rubix.
A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Telecom Paris, Dâu-Khôi Nguyen holds an MBA from INSEAD. With a career spanning 5 different countries (France, Netherlands, Belgium, UK and Singapore), Dâu-Khôi’s international profile is even reflected in his family life: each of his three children was born in a different country (Netherlands, Singapore and Thailand).

As Senior Vice-President Western Europe, Dâu-Khôi Nguyen joins BlaBlaCar’s Executive Committee, alongside Olivier Bonnet (Chief Technology Officer), Verena Butt d’Espous (Chief Customer Officer), Nicolas Chandou (Chief Financial Officer), Piotr Jas (Senior Vice-President Eastern Europe and Latin America) and Frédéric Altenbourger (General Secretary), reporting to Nicolas Brusson (CEO and co-founder).
